Matt Menter Senior Trial Attorney
Matt comes from a long line of family dedicated to the service of others, and that philosophy informs every part of his practice. Born in Houston and raised in Pearland, Matt’s roots remain firmly planted in his community.
His passion for writing sparked his curiosity in the legal profession. In his time at South Texas College of Law Houston, Matt was a member of the South Texas Law Review. His passion for advocacy came from his time competing for the prestigious varsity Moot Court program at South Texas. Matt traveled the country to represent the school in several national competitions as both a brief writer and an oral advocate responsible for arguing both sides of presented issues. He received multiple awards for his oral and written advocacy, including the award for best brief at the 2016 National Health Law Moot Court Competition. The skills that Matt learned through his time at South Texas formed the foundation that would rapidly develop into a successful career as a practicing lawyer.
As a personal injury lawyer, Matt has represented hundreds of clients and accumulated millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for them. His creativity, writing skills, and dedication have served his clients well, briefing and arguing contentious motions, and finding novel solutions to their complex legal issues. Matt is also not afraid of the courtroom; he has first-chaired multiple trials, handling every aspect from voir dire to evidence presentation, to jury argument. Matt fought hard as co-counsel to obtain a top 100 verdict in Texas in 2018 and the largest food poisoning verdict in the state for that year.
Matt understands that many people become injured unexpectedly, and many of his clients have never needed an attorney before. That is why he makes sure to walk his clients through every step of their case. Matt also firmly believes the injured and indigent deserve the same zealous, meticulous representation that billion-dollar insurance companies often pit against his clients. He prides himself on helping those who need it most and dedicates himself to achieve the best possible result.
When he is not busy fighting for his clients, Matt spends much of his time with his family, friends, and two dogs. He is a lifelong Houston sports fan and a music lover. You may even catch him at a karaoke night belting Prince or Chris Stapleton.

Testimonials
Two years ago I was in a 18-wheeler accident. Thank God for Johnathan being on top of everything that was needed for me and my family. He’s a good person, in and out, and as a lawyer made sure I was well taken care of. I am forever grateful. I highly recommend J.D. Silva & Associates if you want to be treated right!
No accident is too big or too small; if you are needing a professional to take care of your case this is the man for the job! My accident happened in Clute TX, a small city in Brazoria County. I didn’t think I would get the help I needed, but thankfully I came across J.D. Silva & Associates to take care of me in my time of need! Very helpful!
Had an accident about a year ago in Louisiana with a Texas woman that hit me from behind. I quickly called Johnathan and he got right on the case. I felt like I was his only client from the attentiveness and the time he spent to ensure I was okay. He made my case hassle free with all the doctor appointments and scans. I can’t say how thankful I was to go with Johnathan; he really treats people like family. I would not hesitate to call him if was to ever get in an accident. And after it was all said and done with my therapy and my health I got a good lump sum. Thanks Johnathan, you keep being the best man, God bless.
